Ati radeon hd 4300hd 4500 series overclock11/14/2022 ![]() Current Operating System: Linux dominik-OptiPlex-790 4.15.0-30-generic #32-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jul 26 17:42: x86_64 Build Operating System: Linux 4.4.0-119-generic x86_64 Ubuntu (I need the AMD card for Windows though, so removing it is not an option)ġ) Is there a way to get this graphics card to work with the radeon open source driver?Ģ) Is the radeon driver even the default driver that is loaded on boot-up? If not, how can I enable it?ģ) Any other drivers that might work or anything I haven't thought of? Since I don't really care about gpu performance on mint I would just use my igpu but it's deactivated by my mobo once I insert a pci-e card and there's no way in my BIOS to activate it. Nomodeset or radeon.modeset=0 allows me to at least boot but it's not a permanent solution since the aspect ratio is 4:3 and the resolution is really low. Whenever I try to boot the system I get stuck at the Xfce logo screen and all I can do is access the console by pressing ctrl+alt+F1. It should however be supported by the preinstalled radeon open source driver. I have a Radeon r7 250 and according to the sticky it's neither supported by the proprietary drivers nor the open source amdgpu one anymore. I've been doing a lot of reading but I can't seem to get anywhere. ![]() ![]() Problem is I can't seem to get my graphics card to work. I'm trying to get a dual boot system running with Windows 10 and Mint 19 Xfce (64 bit). I'm completely new to Linux and kind of lost at this point. ![]()
